Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to build a base in Rust?expand_more
It depends on size and grade. Each building block costs 200 wood, 300 stone, 200 metal fragments or 25 high quality metal to upgrade to wood, stone, sheet metal or armored. Add up every foundation, wall, floor and roof at its grade, plus doors, to get the total.
How much upkeep will my base need?expand_more
Daily upkeep is about 10% of your total build cost at a full tool cupboard. This calculator shows the per-day wood, stone, metal and HQM drain alongside the build cost.
How much does a stone wall cost to upgrade?expand_more
Upgrading one building block to stone costs 300 stone. A sheet metal block is 200 metal fragments, and an armored block is 25 high quality metal.
Do doors and the tool cupboard count toward upkeep?expand_more
Their base resources (wood, stone, metal, HQM) add to build cost and therefore upkeep. Gears used to craft garage and armored doors are a one-time build cost and are not part of daily upkeep.
