How much does it cost to build a base in Rust?expand_more
It depends on size and grade. Each building block costs 200 wood, 300 stone, 200 metal fragments or 25 high quality metal to upgrade to wood, stone, sheet metal or armored. Add up every foundation, wall, floor and roof at its grade, plus doors, to get the total.
How much upkeep will my base need?expand_more
Between 10% and 33.3% of build cost per day, set by block count: 10% for the first 15 blocks, 15% for the next 50, 20% for the next 125, 33.3% beyond. This calculator counts your blocks, works out the blended rate and shows the per-day wood, stone, metal and HQM drain.
How much does a stone wall cost to upgrade?expand_more
Upgrading one building block to stone costs 300 stone. A sheet metal block is 200 metal fragments, and an armored block is 25 high quality metal.
Do doors and the tool cupboard count toward upkeep?expand_more
Doors do: they pay the same blended rate as the building blocks, on their wood, metal or HQM. The tool cupboard does not. It is a deployable, so it adds 1,000 wood to the build and nothing to upkeep. Gears used to craft garage and armored doors are a one-time build cost and are never part of upkeep.
