What the Planner Does and Doesn't Model
- Square foundations and floors only. Triangles and stability aren't modelled, so a floor with nothing under it is accepted.
- One build cost per block per grade. No data we hold gives separate costs for floors and walls, so both are billed alike.
- Every wall is priced on its hard side. A wall placed soft side out is cheaper to break: about 66% of the explosives, see the raid calculator.
- The raid path goes through walls, doors and ceilings. It doesn't model ladders, turrets, traps or anyone shooting back.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the planner work out the raid cost?expand_more
It finds the cheapest route, in sulfur, from outside the base to the room holding the tool cupboard. Every wall, door and ceiling on the way is priced at the cheapest explosive for that piece, the same figure our raid pages show. If a room has no roof, or a wall is missing, that route costs nothing and the planner says so.
Why does my base show 0 sulfur to raid?expand_more
Because there is a way in that breaks nothing: a missing wall, or a room with no floor above it. Use “Roof over top level” to cap the base, then check the red dashed path again.
Is the upkeep figure exact?expand_more
The rate is. Rust charges upkeep in brackets by how many building blocks the cupboard covers, and the planner counts your blocks and applies those brackets. The resource amounts use one cost per block per grade, so a floor is billed like a wall; a base heavy in floors will cost a little less in game than shown here.
Can I save or share a plan?expand_more
Yes. The whole plan lives in the page address, so “Copy share link” gives you a URL that opens the same base for anyone. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
