RUSTLY
Released 6 February 2025

Rust Primitive

Introduces a Primitive game mode in which knowledge of high-tech items has been lost, restricting players to basic weapons. It ships four medieval siege weapons, shields as a backpack-slot item, and a substantial horse overhaul.

What's new in Primitive

Primitive gamemode removing high-tech items
Catapult with scattershot, firebomb and explosive ammo
Siege Tower (3 levels, drawbridges) and Battering Ram
Ballista firing pitchfork, piercer, hammerhead, incendiary bolts
Shields in the backpack slot, three damage-blocking variants
Overhauled horses: skidding, swimming, siege weapon towing

Release date

Primitive released on 6 February 2025. Named Rust updates ship on the first Thursday of the month and land alongside a force wipe, so this is also the day every server's map reset. If you're working out when the next one lands, the wipe timer tracks it.
