Abandoned Military Base

Overview
The Abandoned Military Base is the desert monument Facepunch shipped alongside the MLRS. It is not a fixed build: the base is procedurally assembled from a pool of modules filling four templates, so it comes out different on every server — and different again after every wipe. Learning one server's base doesn't teach you the next one; what carries over is the vocabulary of modules, not a memorised route.
Facepunch describes the compound as having a few points of entry, defended by scientists. Because the layout is regenerated, the way in on your server may not be the way in on anyone else's, so scout the perimeter instead of running someone's route from a video.
The loot is regular monument loot "with a sprinkle of oil", in Facepunch's words, plus locked hackable crates. Those crates are the real draw: they hold the MLRS Aiming Module, the part that makes the launcher usable.
A parked MLRS sits at the base. Loaded, it holds twelve rockets and will fire at any target except safe zones. It is counterable — SAM sites shoot the rockets down, and Facepunch puts the number needed to stop a full barrage at three.
What we deliberately do not state: the monument's radiation level, whether a recycler spawns in its module pool, and whether any keycard puzzle is involved. Facepunch's update post doesn't say, and their wiki page for the monument is gone, so those three sit as 'not documented' above rather than as a guess that would then be wrong on half the servers running it.
Loot & Utilities
Abandoned Military Base is a roam monument — whether it has a recycler isn't documented, so don't count on one. Its radiation level isn't documented, so watch your own rad meter on the way in rather than trusting a number.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Abandoned Military Base in Rust?expand_more
It's a desert monument that Facepunch added with the MLRS. Rather than being one hand-built location, it's procedurally assembled from a pool of modules that fill four templates, so every server's version is laid out differently and it's rebuilt again on each wipe. Scientists defend it, there are a few points of entry, and it holds regular monument loot plus locked hackable crates.
Where do you get the MLRS Aiming Module?expand_more
From the locked hackable crates at the Abandoned Military Base. The aiming module is the part the MLRS needs to be fired, which is what makes the monument worth running even on a wipe where its layout doesn't suit you.
How do you counter the MLRS in Rust?expand_more
SAM sites. They shoot the incoming rockets down, and Facepunch puts the number needed to stop a full barrage at three — a loaded MLRS carries twelve rockets. It can fire at any target except safe zones, so a base that matters is a base worth putting SAMs on.
Does the Abandoned Military Base have a recycler or radiation?expand_more
We don't publish an answer, because no primary source states one. Facepunch's update post covers the modules, the loot and the MLRS but not radiation, recyclers or keycards, and their wiki page for the monument is gone. On top of that the base is reassembled from a module pool every wipe, so a single fixed answer may not exist. Check in-game on your own server rather than trusting a number from a guide.
