Rust Tier 3 (Workbench Level 3) Tech Tree

Costs are from the current-build item data. Research at a Research Table with a found item, or unlock directly through the workbench tech tree with scrap. Full path is the total scrap to reach that node from an untouched tree, prerequisites included — the number you actually pay. A dash means the game files don't carry that figure for the item.
How Do You Get Tier 3?
How do you get a Tier 3 workbench in Rust?expand_more
You build Workbench Level 1, then 2, then 3 — each one requires the previous tier placed nearby. WB1 costs 500× Wood + 100× Metal Fragments. WB2 needs a WB1 present and costs 500× Metal Fragments + 20× High Quality Metal + 5× Basic Blueprint Fragment. WB3 needs a WB2 present and costs 1,000× Metal Fragments + 100× High Quality Metal + 5× Advanced Blueprint Fragment. All three are default blueprints — no research needed for the benches themselves, only for what you craft at them.
What are Blueprint Fragments for?expand_more
Basic Blueprint Fragments (for WB2) and Advanced Blueprint Fragments (for WB3) are consumed directly in the workbench's own crafting cost, not researched separately — they're loot, not something you unlock. We don't have verified drop-source data for them yet, so we're not listing specific loot spawns here rather than guess.
