RUSTLY

Rust CCTV Camera Controls

Wiring cameras, setting identifiers, and watching feeds — plus the one power rule everyone gets backwards.

The keys

MousePan / tilt — PTZ cameras and controllable monument cameras only

Before it moves

The Computer Station needs NO electricity — it works the moment it's placed. Cameras are the opposite: a standard CCTV draws 3 power and a PTZ camera 5, wired in with the Wire Tool, and an unpowered camera can't be added to a station. Monument cameras (DOME1, OILRIG1HELI and friends) are always live — just type the code.

What goes wrong

  • !Identifiers are case-sensitive at every step. A wrong-case code at the station just silently finds nothing.
  • !Each station holds 15 codes and forgets all of them when picked up — redeploying means re-typing.
  • !Players assume the station needs power because everything else electrical does. It doesn't; it's the cameras that must be powered.
