Rope
A salvaged rope used in satchel charges, bows and various clothing crafts.
How to Get Rope in Rust
Rope isn't a craftable item — there's no recipe, no workbench, no blueprint. It's loot-only, which is why searching for a recipe doesn't turn one up. The reliable way to get it on purpose is recycling Sewing Kits, not looking for rope directly.
Where to find it
Rope spawns in barrels fairly often, and shows up in a wide spread of crates — Primitive Jungle Crate, Sunken Crate, Sunken Chest and the Fisherman Tackle Box all drop it. If you're farming barrels along the coast or a river, you'll pick up rope naturally without going out of your way.
The deliberate way: recycle Sewing Kits
Sewing Kits recycle into 1–2 Rope each and are common barrel loot in their own right, so if you're short on rope specifically, farm and recycle Sewing Kits instead of hoping for a direct rope drop. It's the closest thing to a reliable source the game has.
What it's actually for
Rope is a component in wooden armor, satchel charges, ladders, shotgun traps, bows and a handful of other recipes — nothing that needs a huge stack, so a barrel run or two is usually enough to cover what you need for the wipe.
