Supply Drop (Airdrop) Loot Table

Dropped from a flying cargo plane on a parachute, either randomly or from a thrown Supply Signal. Visible to the whole server the moment it's called in, so expect a fight over it.

How Airdrops Spawn

Airdrops arrive by cargo plane: a plane flies across the map and drops a Supply Drop crate that parachutes down to the ground. Planes come in two ways — as a random server event, or because a player threw a Supply Signal to call one in on a specific spot.

Either way, the drop is public. The plane is audible and visible to the whole server the moment the event starts, and the crate descends slowly under its parachute in open view — so treat every airdrop as a contested fight, not free loot. If you pop a Supply Signal near your base, expect company.

Supply Signals: How to Get One

You cannot craft a Supply Signal — there is no crafting recipe for it anywhere in the current game files (v2632.287.1, all 987 datamined recipes checked). The only way to get one from the game itself is as a rare crate drop.

From the same game-file dump, Supply Signals drop from three containers: the Elite Crate (roughly a 2.6% chance across its rolls), the Locked Crate (about 1.4%), and the Military Crate (about 1%). Throwing one calls a cargo plane to drop a Supply Drop crate near the smoke.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get an airdrop in Rust?expand_more

Two ways: wait for the random cargo plane event, which drops a Supply Drop crate somewhere on the map for anyone to contest, or throw a Supply Signal to call a plane to your own position. Supply Signals can't be crafted — they're rare loot from Elite, Locked and Military Crates.
